While you're upgrading textures, I recommend installing W.A.T.E.R. If the game still plays wonderfully with the lite version, then you could try the full version. What I recommend is that you install the lite version, as the texture resolutions on that are half of the highest res textures but still look better than the vanilla textures. Depending on your GPU, you may or may not even notice that. Now, any time you increase the strain on the GPU you have, it will affect the game's performance. I looked at the files and they seem identical. While there's a number of texture mods, the 2K Textures mod is the best, as it offers the highest resolution textures for a good portion of the game (higher than the OFFICIAL high res texture pack), comes in a lite version, is constantly being updated, and allows you to choose what parts of the game to increase textures on.Īs far I know, it works with the latest patch.

I ran High Res Pack 01 through DDSpot and the size didn't change. I don't care if you have a state of the art high end system, Skyrim's engine only uses a base amount of memory and 2 processors, even with ENBoost, these texture packs are still crap. using them with a heavy mod order is foolish and use with this mod will almost certainly cause you to crash when you are in or near the museum because you will run out of memory. These were designed to improve visual appearance of a VANILLA non modded game only. Official HD Texture packs part 1, 2 and 3 STOP using these packs unless you have personally run them through DDSopt again, because they are memory hogging, poorly optimized textures which will EAT your memory faster than anything. Other replacers like Skyrim HD - 2K Textures actually make textures resolution bigger 2 or 4 times of the original High Res DLC. What are other alternatives out there? I only see see this replacer which is not complete.

According to Legacy of Dragonborn author those High Res DLCs packs are not recommended for modded playthrough.
